NICFD 2016: 1ST INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON NON-IDEAL COMPRESSIBLE FLUID DYNAMICS FOR PROPULSION AND POWER
On the 20th and the 21st of October 2016 the beautiful venue of Villa Monastero in Varenna on Como Lake (Italy) will host the 1st NICFD seminar.
The aim of this event is to to get together a new micro-community of people working mainly in the field of propulsion & power that are interested in discussing the fluid dynamics of non-ideal compressible flows, namely not PV = RT.
The growing interest towards NICFD in the last decade, especially for its advanced applications in the field of propulsion and power, has determined an impulse in research. This seminar is intended to promote the exchange of information among the quite diverse community, whose interests span from the fundamentals to the industrial application.
The conference is organised by Prof. Alberto Guardone (CREA Lab, (Politecnico di Milano), Prof. Piero Colonna (Propulsion & Power, (TUDelft) and Dr. Andrew Wheeler (Whittle Laboratory, Cambridge University).
Conference topics include:
- numerical methods;
- optimisation and UQ,
- critical and supercritical flows;
- turbulence and mixing modelling;
- multi-component fluid flows;
- applications to ORC power systems,
- supercriticalCO2 power systems and steam turbines;
- criogenic flows,
- condensing flows;
- cavitating flows;
- super/transcritical fluids in space propulsion.
The abstract submission deadline is March, 18th, 2016, other information about the conference can be found at nicfd2016.polimi.it
